Lead the Commercial Growth of an Established Business

This is not a traditional Managing Director role. Acting as the organisation’s commercial and operational Integrator, you will partner closely with the CEO to translate strategy into execution, align the leadership team and take ownership of overall business performance. You will lead the commercial strategy and full P&L, strengthen international supplier and retail customer partnerships, optimise inventory and working capital, and ensure that the company’s long-term growth objectives are translated into measurable results.

This role is suited to a commercially driven leader who has successfully grown an import and distribution business supplying physical consumer products into major retail markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own overall business performance, profitability and full P&L delivery.
  • Develop and execute strategies that drive sustainable revenue and margin growth.
  • Lead international sourcing, supplier negotiations and strategic partnerships.
  • Strengthen relationships with major retail customers and wholesale channels.
  • Drive pricing, forecasting, inventory optimisation and working capital performance.
  • Translate strategy into clear priorities, accountability and operational execution.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing executive team in partnership with the CEO.

Experience required:

  • Senior executive leadership experience within an import, distribution or wholesale business.
  • Full P&L accountability and a proven record of delivering profitable commercial growth.
  • Demonstrated experience supplying physical consumer products into major retail environments.
  • Extensive experience negotiating with international suppliers and managing landed costs.
  • Strong commercial capability across pricing, forecasting, inventory, margin and profitability.
  • The ability to influence at Board and Executive level while remaining operationally engaged.

The ideal leader

  • You understand the commercial interdependence between customers, suppliers, pricing, inventory, working capital and profitability.
  • You are equally comfortable negotiating with global suppliers, presenting business performance to the Board, developing senior leaders and building long-term customer partnerships.
  • You bring sound judgement, commercial credibility and the ability to turn strategy into disciplined execution.
