Key Responsibilities

  • Horizon Scanning: Monitor, capture, and review regulatory trends and developments, promptly summarizing potential impacts for affected divisions.
  • Legislative Influence: Collect and submit formal comments on proposed legislation to regulators, government bodies, or industry associations.
  • Implementation & Alignment: Oversee the creation and successful execution of implementation plans for new legislation, ensuring internal controls, policies, and processes meet legal standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Operations teams to identify regulatory risks and develop robust internal procedures.
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide high-level advice to senior management regarding regulatory changes, risks, and emerging opportunities.
  • Industry Representation: Act as the group’s representative on industry bodies, committees, and forums.
  • Thought Leadership & Research: Conduct ad hoc research and author articles on pertinent regulatory and policy matters.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor, coach, and develop the regulatory affairs team to ensure they remain highly informed and equipped.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience within the Financial Services industry.
  • Qualifications: A completed B.Com LLB degree.
  • Advantageous: Being an Admitted Attorney and/or a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) is highly beneficial.
  • Tech Skills: Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office.
