Overview
The Building Custodian|Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization aligned with the Company’s goal of providing exceptional community services, maximizing resident satisfaction and quality of living. You will perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and custodial tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our Communities. The duties listed below are intended as illustrations of various primary types of work that may be performed. - Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of building interior systems including HVAC units, plumbing, electrical equipment, and facilities equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and schematics to address issues with electrical wiring, plumbing systems, HVAC components, and building structures.
- Maintain building interior spaces through painting, carpentry, and general custodial duties to uphold high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters and schematics; repair or replace faulty electrical equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
- Manage plumbing system maintenance including repairs of leaks, clogs, or broken fixtures; conduct preventative maintenance on plumbing infrastructure.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants and communicating clearly about repair status or safety concerns.
- Coordinate with LM Team Members to ensure all make-ready repairs and services are completed.
- Respond to after-hours on-call emergencies.
- Assist with trash removal. Maintain trash rooms and dumpster areas.
- Assist in the proper clearing of snow during a snow event.
- Coordinate proper workshop inventory with the maintenance team.
The Building Custodian|Maintenance Technician provides support and assistance to LM Team Members, ensuring a positive living experience within LandMark’s Communities. Requirements:
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in maintenance, repair and operations including HVAC system repair and electrical work.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, schematics interpretation, and electrical equipment repair techniques.
- Experience with plumbing system maintenance and repair as well as facilities equipment upkeep.
- Ability to perform residential painting, carpentry tasks, maintenance painting and building interior maintenance efficiently.
- Ability to prioritize tasks independently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Experience:
- Residential painting: 3 years (Required)
- Property maintenance: 3 years (Required)
- Ability to follow instructions: 3 years (Required)
