KONE is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician in Cape Town, South Africa. Our team comprises maintenance professionals dedicated to providing onsite customer service to ensure smooth and safe operation of our equipment. We are looking for a service-minded Maintenance Technician to deliver professional elevator and escalator maintenance to our customers.
In this role, you will be a core part of KONE’s team, making people’s lives easier. Your responsibilities will include ensuring quality service, improving equipment safety and performance, and maintaining proactive onsite communication with customers and end-users.
Responsibilities:
Ensure customer satisfaction through quality service and regular, proactive onsite communication.
Provide accurate and real-time reporting of work performed.
Maintain excellent relationships with customers, contact persons, and end-users on site.
Manage the site environment during service operations.
Identify site risks and communicate any occurrences promptly.
Identify unplanned service repairs based on equipment needs, contact the onsite contact person for approval if not covered by the contract, and perform repairs.
Manage PAR stock levels, including inventory shelving, stock transfers, and timely replenishment orders.
Submit timesheets based on work execution.
Skills & Experience:
Qualifications such as:
Completed NQF level 4 certification with an apprenticeship program (minimum 4 years);
Completed Electrical/Mechanical Engineer Diploma/Degree with at least 12 months shadowing a competent lift mechanic;
Completed NQF level 5 certification with at least 12 months shadowing a competent lift mechanic;
Good communication skills and basic IT skills.
