This strategic role ensures safety compliance, operational efficiency, and team development in a high-volume steel plant.
Requirements:
BEng (Mechanical/Electrical) (NQF 8/10)
Management Development Program (advantageous)
10+ years in steel plants (BOF, Caster, Secondary Metallurgy)
Maintenance leadership:
Managing multiple execution teams
SAP PM & Projects proficiency
Advanced Excel & MS Projects skills
Hot Metal Handling | Raw Materials Processing
Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems | Heavy Industrial Equipment
Key Responsibilities:
Achieve FPS Level 5 compliance (LBIs, PSIFs, PACT Agreements)
Conduct safety forums (Forum
4) and manage statutory requirements
Lead multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical/electrical) executing scheduled work
Oversee planned shutdowns for Steel Making operations
Optimize SAP PM for work orders and resource allocation
Develop and or maintain maintenance strategies for critical assets
Drive cost-saving initiatives and process optimizations
Coach supervisors and high-potential candidates
Ensure technical and safety competency across teams
