Full Job Description
1.1 In conjunction with Sales Team, Production Manager, design and development, Technical department, design and development manufacture tooling for new products to ensure achievable delivery dates are set and that costing is accurate for quotation purposes.
1.2 Prepare requisitions for materials, suppliers, sketches, drawings or samples required for new tooling
1.3 Assist Buyer with any problems encountered with sourcing production materials
1.4 Source competent suppliers for work that cannot be done internally
1.5 Ensure correct materials and quantities are in place for work, ensure most efficient use of materials and inspect quality before use
1.6 Verify fitness for purpose of tooling in conjunction with sales, technical and production personnel before release
1.7 Plan time utilisation of facilities, ensure facilities are available and in good condition, arrange for maintenance as required, control calibration/repairs of machinery and critical measuring equipment
1.8 Prepare maintenance budgets, engineering project budgets as well as other related expenditure budgets.
