Maintenance fitter position available in a high-paced manufacturing plant.
Duties
and Responsibilities
Meet with maintenance manager and production staff to discuss maintenance/engineering breakdowns in the plant.
Record all work required and completed on the Preventative Maintenance platform.
Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the machines and/or buildings does not deteriorate.
Inspect drives, motors, and belts. Check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions following a checklist.
Assemble, install, and/or repair pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
Ensure health and safety compliance.
Diagnose mechanical failures and determine how to correct them.
Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to determine machine malfunctions.
Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair mechanical equipment correctly.
Record maintenance and repair work done.
Clean and lubricate bearings, gears, and shafts.
Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto the machine.
Monitor the speeds and feeds of machines.
Welding experience is required.
Hydraulic press experience will be an advantage.
Team player willing to go the extra mile.
Requirements
Trade test
N3 qualification
Exposure in a manufacturing environment
At least 10 years of work experience
Own transport
Goodcommunication skills
