Location: Gqeberha

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join the Port Elizabeth team,

· Perform routine inspection on production equipment

· Perform basic routine preventative maintenance functions

· Assist with general maintenance and repair of machinery

· Assist with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs

· Tooling maintenance, including cleaning, storage and minor repairs

· Assist with maintenance, repairs and upkeep of equipment, infrastructure and vehicles

· Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment

· Escalate machine, equipment and other technical failures

Requirements

· Grade 12

· N3 – N6 qualification preferred

· Minimum 1 – 2 years experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment

· Exposure to manufacturing processes

· Mechanical and electrical experience

· Welding and fabrication skills (qualified welder preferred)

· Knowledge of and ability to use power tools

· Knowledge of health and safety procedures and protocols

· Ability to work at heights and confined spaces

· Ability to lift and handle materials and tools (physical fitness)

· Valid driver’s licence would be advantageous

· Basic computer literacy would be advantageous

· Must be willing and able to work shifts and/or overtime, and move between the different plants to perform maintenance tasks
