DC Meat Wholesalers Stikland are looking for a reliable Maintenance Assistant to form part of their maintenance team for the day to day maintenance of all plant and machinery.
Responsibilities
Assist with starting up and shutting of boilers, plant and machinery,
Tool change and machine setup,
Machine cleaning and general maintenance,
Recording, monitoring and troubleshooting problems during machine operation,
Daily checks and reporting (completion of daily/weekly check sheets).
Ensure that the correct personal protection equipment is worn at all times,
Read, understand and complete job cards,
Monitor that all safety systems for correct operation.
Always ensure that machines are safe to operate and that the area around and in the machine has been properly cleaned.
Ability to work shifts and overtime from time to time and to work in a fast-pace environment.
Follow standardized work and adhere to safe working practices in a continuously improving environment.
Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple production of equipment.
Operate/monitor the machines during operations to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stoppages.
Qualifications
Matric,
2-3 years work experience in environment of food production,
Driver’s license and own means of transport,
General knowledge of the operation of food production equipment,
Problem solving skills,
Adaptability,
Time management skills,
Attention to detail,
Physical stamina and strength.
