Position: Machine Operator (Aluminium)
Our factory is looking to recruit a Machine Operator (Aluminium) to join our dynamic team.
The Machine Operator will be responsible for precision cutting, mitring, and assembly of aluminium doors for internal cupboards. The role requires hands‑on experience with industrial machinery, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Operate industrial mitre compounding saws and milling machines.
- Cut and mitre aluminium doors according to customer orders.
- Mark hinge positions on aluminium profiles as per specifications.
- Assist with manual assembly of aluminium doors when required.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Communicate effectively with Gelmar shop teams and management.
- Strong technical ability in aluminium cutting and mitring.
- Familiarity with industrial saws and milling machines.
- Ability to interpret customer orders and translate them into precise production tasks.
- Team-oriented personality with good interpersonal skills.
- Clear communication in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Matric (Grade 12) is required.
- 3–5 years’ experience working with aluminium.
- Experience in aluminium house doors and windows manufacturing is advantageous.
- South African citizenship is mandatory.
Working Conditions
- Factory floor environment with exposure to machinery and noise.
- Manual handling and standing for extended periods.
- Occasional teamwork in assembly operations.
