Description/Job Summary
This position is responsible for building loads for deliveries. In addition, the Lumber Yard Associate will load and unload lumber and other building supplies and operate a forklift. Occasionally, will assist with deliveries so a clean driving record IS required.
The position will require a preemployment drug screen and criminal background check.
Essential Functions:
- Build loads for delivery
- Assist customers load materials
- Operate forklift
- Keeps management aware of any delays or discrepancies
- Keeps lumber yard clean, well-organized and safe
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
- Good communication with Counter Associates and Management.
- Ability to understand and follow safety protocols.
- Lift up to 40 lbs. .
- Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.
- Majority of work is outdoors.
- Bilingual is helpful, but not required.
Required Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a lumber yard or similar is helpful.
- Forklift operation experience strongly preferred as well as Forklift Certification.
