Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Specialist, based in South Africa, to support the growing needs of our U.S. logistics operations. In this role, you will work closely with our North American supply chain and warehouse partners to ensure the smooth execution of both outbound and inbound shipments. Your responsibilities will include tracking orders, managing relationships with 3PL providers, and contributing to key performance indicators such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full).
This is a high-impact, execution-focused position ideal for someone with a solid understanding of logistics, a strong operational mindset, and a passion for growing within a fast-paced, international supply chain environment.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate daily with U.S.-based 3PLs, carriers, and warehouse partners to manage FTL (Full Truckload) and LTL (Less-than-Truckload) shipments.
Track ocean freight and inland movements, providing real-time updates to stakeholders and maintaining system accuracy.
Monitor order readiness and arrange timely pickups and delivery appointments at customer distribution centers.
Prepare and manage import/export documentation in accordance with U.S. and international trade regulations.
Maintain and review inbound and outbound shipment reports to ensure full visibility and proactively mitigate risks.
Request, compare, and analyze ocean freight and inland transport rates to support cost-effective logistics decisions.
Review and approve freight invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
Maintain data accuracy across platforms including NetSuite, Google Sheets, and internal logistics tracking tools.
Contribute to OTIF (On-Time In-Full) reporting and support vendor scorecard performance initiatives.
Qualifications:
2–4 years of experience in logistics, freight coordination, or supply chain operations; global logistics experience is a strong advantage.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively manage vendors, customers, partners, and internal teams.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
Proficient in Google Sheets, Excel, and logistics platforms; quick to adapt and learn new online portal systems.
Familiarity with U.S. DC scheduling practices, reefer/container management, and compliance documentation is a plus.
