Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Logistics Coordinator based in Somerset West. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to inventory management, supply chain management, and ensuring efficient communication and customer service in the transport operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Analytical Skills and Inventory Management
Supervise collection, loading and transport of containers
Coordinate truck schedules to match load times and turn around loads
Maintain regular communication with truck drivers, clients and Port to ensure smooth operations.
Provide clients with regular updates regarding their loads
Schedule offloading appointments via Transnet Navis System
Plan container loads in allignment with stack dates and deadlines
Monitor and manage unneccessary costs to minimize overall cost to the company.
Good customer service skills
Supply Chain Management
Requirements
Experience in logistics or transportation industry +/- 2 years
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
To be able to work under pressure
Knowledge of relevant software and technology
Computer literacy and professional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
