SUMMARY:
A remote game reserve in the Kalahari region of the Northern Cape is looking for a hands-on and experienced LODGE MANAGER to oversee its intimate luxury tented camp.
POSITION INFO:
This is a hands-on, all-rounder role suited to someone who thrives in a truly remote environment and can manage day-to-day operations across guest experience, staff, and administration with minimal support. The property comprises 7 luxury tents plus additional research and student accommodation, so the successful candidate will need to juggle multiple areas of responsibility at once. Core Criteria: Previous experience in lodge management, guest relations, or hospitality operations Strong administration and organisational skills Experience with reservations systems, Microsoft Office, and guest account management Strong leadership and team management abilities Experience with stock control and financial administration Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently in a remote environment Valid driver's licence Positive, hands-on attitude with a genuine passion for conservation and guest service Core Responsibilities: Manage guest communication from reservation through to departure Coordinate guest arrivals, departures, activities, and special requests Conduct room and property inspections to maintain consistent service standards Oversee daily operations across the main camp, research camp, and student accommodation Coordinate housekeeping and maintenance requirements Manage staff schedules, performance, training, and development Oversee stock control and monthly stock takes for guest amenities, beverages, and operational supplies Ensure accurate guest billing and account reconciliations Monitor operational expenses and implement cost control measures Maintain records relating to occupancy, maintenance, incidents, and staff matters Coordinate accommodation logistics and orientation for researchers and students Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards On Offer: Salary: R25,000 per month DOE Live-in position Accommodation provided Meals provided when guests are in camp Flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as operationally required
