Responsibilities
- Inspect & troubleshoot locomotives, railcars, and trackmobiles
- Perform thorough repairs on locomotives, railcars, and trackmobiles
- Perform routine maintenance on locomotives, railcars, and trackmobiles
- Mechanical drive, electrical, air brake, and fabrication repairs & upgrades
- Keep rail equipment in Federal compliance
- Assist with service truck fleet maintenance, as needed
- Keep logs of work and report on issues
Skills
- Railroad experience
- Proven experience as Mechanic
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Tool knowledge
- Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instructions, blueprints, etc.
- A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
- Communication skills
- A problem-solving ability
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 – $35.00 per hour
