A full-time Litigation Attorney (IP) position is available at our firm’s Kempton Park offices.
The successful candidate will be expected to manage litigation matters from inception through to finalisation, and to work independently where required. The role involves drafting legal documents, handling court processes, managing files, attending consultations, liaising with clients and counsel, and ensuring that matters progress efficiently and strategically. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to client development and maintain high standards of professional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling email communications, including drafting, responding to, and organising correspondence.
- Drafting pleadings, notices, and legal opinions.
- Managing litigation matters from instruction through to finalisation.
- Keeping track of critical deadlines and court timelines.
- Maintaining and organising digital and physical files.
- Attending consultations, court appearances, and negotiations.
- Liaising with clients, counsel, experts, and other stakeholders.
- Assisting with billing, invoicing, and fee recovery on matters handled.
- Contributing to client acquisition and business development.

- Excellent drafting and legal reasoning skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
- 3+ years’ post-admission IP litigation experience.
- Experience in High Court and/or commercial litigation is advantageous.
Remuneration:
Market-related salary with a performance-linked component based on billing and collections, negotiable depending on the candidate’s experience. A commission structure may also be considered and discussed.
