About the Role:
We are a UK-based specialist lender providing flexible finance to SMEs. We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Loan Administration Assistant to support the lending team with administrative tasks throughout the loan process. This is a remote contractor role, ideal for someone based in South Africa with strong attention to detail and organisational skills and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Update and maintain the loan application pipeline
Prepare loan folders with supporting documents (e.g. ID, bank statements, accounts)
Assist with document collection and preliminary screening
Input and update data into Excel spreadsheets and internal trackers
Extract key financial data from company accounts and bank statements
Prepare indicative loan quotes based on templates and guidance from the lending team
Assist in the preparation of credit memorandum materials
Support the loan closing process, including:
Preparing loan agreements and related documents
Ensuring agreements are properly executed
AML and KYC checks
Verifying that all required steps are completed before disbursement
Track and follow up on missing documentation
Support the team with ad hoc administrative tasks
Skills & Experience:
Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
Confident working independently and meeting deadlines
Fluent written and spoken English
Strong Excel skills (e.g. formulas, tables, filtering)
Basic understanding of financial documents (e.g. profit & loss, balance sheets) is a plus
Familiarity with AML/KYC processes or document handling is an advantage but not essential
Previous experience in finance, lending, or admin roles is an advantage
Requirements:
Must have reliable internet and a quiet working environment
Access to a suitable laptop (or we may offer a one-time equipment allowance)
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and online tools (e.g. Teams, Trello)
Contract Terms:
Contractor role (self-employed)
Full-time hours preferred (Monday to Friday), but part-time considered
Initial 1-month paid trial
