Position: Legal Manager (Public sector)

One of our public sector clients is looking for an experienced and admitted Attorney / Advocate to join their team.

Qualifications and

Experience:

LLB / BJuris / BProc / BCom LAW

8 years’ post-admission experience in a similar or related role, with at least 5 years in a Supervisory / Managerial position

Minimum 2 years’ experience working as an Attorney in the public sector, providing legal services

At least 1 year of experience in labour and litigation (post-admission as an Attorney)

Own reliable transport and a valid driver’s license

Excellent track record; reference checks will be conducted

Knowledge:

Procurement

Employee relations

Legal risk assessments

Contract drafting

Relevant legislation (e.g., PFMA, MFMA)

Skills:

Time management

Research and analysis

Presentation and interpretation

Drafting and negotiation

Ability to work under pressure

Training and managing staff

Corporate governance

Legal research and document recordkeeping

Managing legal budgets and costings

Keeping abreast of industry trends, laws, and regulations

Providing legal guidance on employment law, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and contracts
