The International Hotel School Benoni Campus is searching for a Patisserie Lecturer. The purpose of this role is to teach and share your passion for the culinary industry with eager young students; helping them grow individually, and ultimately playing a role in their career paths and success in life. You will be responsible for:
- Conduct theory lectures and kitchen pastry practical sessions
- Ensure a pass rate of 85% and throughput rate of 90% is achieved
- Student tracking, counselling and support
- Input towards curriculum development and improvement
- Apply assessment principles as per assessor code of conduct
- Industry time and research
- Open day Sweet Snacks
- Taking the lead on all Competitions
- In charge of Pastry Based Excursions for the students
Requirements
– Minimum NQF 5 qualification in the hospitality industry
– City and Guilds Diploma in Food Prep and Cooking & Patisserie
– CATHSSETA scoping – Unit 73292 is a requirement
– Assessors and Moderators certificate
– Certified to conduct outcome-based assessment
– Minimum 5 years Pastry experience
– Minimum 2 years lecturing / teaching/assessor
– Experience in a managerial position is needed
