LEAD PIPING ENGINEER The Piping Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and supervising piping design functions within a project or study context. The primary objective is to ensure that designs meet the project requirements, align with company goals, and are delivered within specified timelines and budget constraints.
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in piping design, particularly within the mining and minerals processing sectors, both in the design office and on-site. Advanced proficiency in computer applications, including Word, databases, spreadsheets, and discipline-specific software (e.g., piping stress analysis software). Strong technical competence in core engineering principles and the ability to apply them to new and complex systems. Extensive site experience, including construction and commissioning phases.
Experience in designing and constructing pumping systems for the mining industry, including slurry piping and HDPE piping systems. Expertise in designing lined piping systems (e.g., ceramic, rubber, HDPE, and Copon lining). Experience conducting pipe stress analysis in the mining environment.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Science (BSc), Engineering (BEng), or Technology (BTech), with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
