Latin and Spanish Teacher Jobs in Merchantville, NJ at St. Peter School
St. Peter School is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and faith-filled Latin and Spanish Teacher to join our faculty. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about languages, enjoys working with students from Kindergarten through Grade 8, and wants to be part of a collaborative, Christ-centered school community.
Position Responsibilities
- Teach Latin to students in Grades 5–8 several times per week.
- Teach Spanish to students in Grades K–4 once per week.
- Develop engaging, age-appropriate lessons that build students’ language skills, vocabulary, cultural understanding, and appreciation for the classical and Spanish languages.
- Create a positive and respectful learning environment where students are encouraged to participate and do their best.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
- Assess student learning and communicate student progress and concerns as appropriate.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other members of the faculty to support student success.
- Incorporate connections between Latin, Spanish, Catholicism, history, culture, literature, and other areas of learning.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school activities, and the faith life of the school.
- Model professionalism, kindness, respect, and the Catholic virtues we seek to instill in our students.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Latin, Spanish, Classics, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Latin and Spanish.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students across a wide range of ages.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administration, and families.
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission and values of St. Peter School.

Pay: $35,244.00 – $40,302.00 per year
