Summary
We are seeking an experienced Flatbed Press Operator to join our large-format production team. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with at least 3 years of experience in large format printing who is proficient in operating UV flatbed printers. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, and capable of maintaining print quality and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment. File prep experience is a plus
Responsibilities
Flatbed Press Operation
- Set up, operate, and maintain UV flatbed printers to ensure high-quality output. Read and interpret job tickets and work orders to verify print specifications.
- Load and align substrates (acrylic, metal, wood, etc.) for accurate printing. Perform color calibration and print quality checks to meet production standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor technical issues.
- Work with service technicians when necessary for equipment repairs or upgrades.
Production Workflow & Quality Control
- Match print files to orders and ensure materials are prepared correctly.
- Perform pre-press setup and adjustments to maintain color accuracy and consistency.
- Monitor ink levels, printer heads, and other components for optimal performance.
- Accurately measure and trim printed materials as needed.
Safety & Efficiency
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure proper handling of materials and equipment.
- Assist in tracking inventory of substrates and consumables to prevent downtime.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of experience operating flatbed presses in a large format production setting (required).
- Experienced with Caldera, Asante, Onyx.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on color accuracy and print quality.
- Ability to read and interpret production orders accurately.
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs (materials, ink cartridges, paper rolls).
- Basic math skills and familiarity with measurements for precise alignment.
Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday, Day Shift (8-hour shifts).
- Overtime may be required based on production demands.
