Job Title: Land Surveyor (Fixed-Term Contract)
Duration: 6 MONTHS
Location: Kempton Park
Reports to: Project Manager
Job Purpose:
To carry out land and engineering survey duties to support construction, infrastructure, or development projects. The Land Surveyor will be responsible for accurate data collection, analysis, and mapping in accordance with project requirements and legal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct field surveys and site inspections to gather data for construction and mapping projects.
Use surveying instruments such as GPS, total stations, levels, and GIS technology to measure distances, angles, and elevations.
Prepare and maintain detailed survey records, maps, and reports.
Interpret technical drawings and provide input for design and planning.
Verify the accuracy of survey data and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Work closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure that designs are accurately implemented on-site.
Establish fixed points for use in making maps and determining property boundaries.
Identify any discrepancies in data and report findings to the appropriate team.
Adhere to health and safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical support during all stages of the project lifecycle.
Minimum Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Land Surveyor in construction or infrastructure projects.
Proficient in surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS) and equipment (e.g., total station, GPS).
Good knowledge of local surveying laws and regulations.
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Valid driver’s license.

Flexibility to travel or work on different project sites.
