Our client, a leading renewable energy developer, is looking for a driven and commercially minded Land Acquisition Manager to identify, negotiate and secure strategic land opportunities for utility-scale renewable energy projects across South Africa.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing development team that is delivering some of the country's most impactful clean energy projects.
What you'll be doing:
- Identify and secure suitable land for renewable energy developments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with private landowners, government entities, Traditional Councils, Communal Property Associations (CPAs) and other key stakeholders.
- Negotiate and conclude option agreements, lease agreements, servitudes and land purchase agreements.
- Conduct title deed investigations and land ownership research.
- Support project development teams with land rights, permitting and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and manage land-related applications, including government leasing applications, rezoning, consent use and subdivision applications.
- Work closely with legal teams to ensure agreements are finalised, registered and compliant.
- Coordinate site visits and maintain regular engagement with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track agreement milestones, renewals and land-related deliverables.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with the POPIA Act and relevant land legislation.
What we're looking for:
- 2–5 years' experience in land acquisition within the renewable energy sector.
- Degree or Diploma in Town & Regional Planning, Urban Planning or a related discipline.
- SACPLAN registration will be advantageous.
- Fluent in Both English and Afrikaans
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout South Africa.
