Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Cosmetology Lab Assistant to join our product development and manufacturing team. In this role, you will support the formulation, testing, and quality evaluation of cosmetic and personal care products, bridging professional beauty expertise with rigorous manufacturing and laboratory standards. The ideal candidate brings hands-on cosmetology experience alongside a working knowledge of GMP-compliant production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the formulation, blending, and preparation of cosmetic product samples including skincare, haircare, and color cosmetics.
- Conduct sensory and performance evaluations of products using established cosmetology protocols and standardized testing procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment in accordance with SOPs.
- Support quality control activities including in-process checks, raw material inspection, and finished product testing.
- Accurately document experiments, test results, observations, and deviations in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems (LIMS/ELN).
- Assist in preparation and review of batch records, formulation worksheets, and stability study materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant lab environment in accordance with GMP and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with formulation chemists, QA teams, and manufacturing staff to support product launches and process improvements.
- Source, receive, and manage inventory of raw materials, consumables, and reference standards.
- Contribute to the preparation of regulatory documentation and ingredient safety assessments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology license or cosmetology diploma/certificate from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, or production environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of cosmetic ingredients, formulation principles, and product application techniques.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow written SOPs and work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Working Conditions
- Laboratory and light manufacturing environment; standing for extended periods may be required.
- Exposure to cosmetic raw materials, chemicals, and fragrances; appropriate PPE will be provided and required.
- Standard full-time schedule
