KEY ACCOUNTS MANAGER – ARCHITECTURAL SPECIFIER
Built Environment | Construction & Infrastructure Sector
Great projects begin long before construction starts.
They begin at the specification stage.
This role focuses on engaging architects, engineers, developers, and other built environment professionals to ensure the company’s solutions are considered and specified at the earliest stages of project development.
The Purpose of the Role
To develop strategic relationships with key decision makers in the architectural and built environment sectors, driving product specification across construction projects and ensuring long-term market presence.

Key Responsibilities
Market Engagement & Relationship Management
- Develop strong relationships with architects, engineers, developers, and key industry stakeholders
- Conduct regular visits and engagements with design professionals and decision makers
- Present technical product solutions and specification guidance
- Participate in industry networking events and CPD presentations
Technical Specification & Product Expertise
- Promote the specification of the company’s product solutions within architectural and construction projects
- Provide technical information, design support, and application guidance to professionals
- Develop a deep understanding of product applications, design trends, and installation requirements
- Maintain strong knowledge of relevant construction standards and technical specifications
Project & Opportunity Management
- Identify upcoming construction projects and opportunities for specification
- Track project timelines and engage with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate internally with production, logistics, and sales teams to ensure project delivery
- Monitor projects from specification through to completion
Market Intelligence & Business Development
- Maintain a strong understanding of market dynamics, competitors, and emerging opportunities
- Identify potential new product applications and market opportunities
- Ensure new products and solutions are introduced to the appropriate industry channels
CRM & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of market interactions and opportunities within the CRM system
- Track specifications and project pipelines to ensure strong conversion rates
- Provide regular reports and market feedback to management
Minimum Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in the Built Environment, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 7–10 years’ experience within the construction, infrastructure, or built environment sector
- Proven experience in architectural specification or technical sales
- Strong understanding of construction project structures and industry stakeholders
- Experience working with CRM systems and project tracking tools
