Purpose of the Role
The Key Account Manager will maintain, grow and expand relationships with specific key customers. As well as maintain and establish productive and professional relationships with internal and external customers. Implement a joint and strategic to meet performance objectives and financial targets. Prepare various reports, quarterly sales results, annual forecasts and account status reports.
Key Performance Areas (not limited to):
Develop and maintain key customer plans that support budgetary requirements through participation in the annual integrated planning process.
Identify sales opportunities, assess, validate and clarify customer needs on an ongoing basis.
Develop timeously and accurate forecasts in accordance with the allocated budgets (volume and spend) for assigned accounts, revise throughout the year
Create a solution based Key Customer Plan for each allocated account.
Prepare and deliver effective key account presentations / feedback reports (measure and monitor)
Communicate approved activities, promotional plans, merchandising, new product listings and customer penetration plans with the sales team to ensure smooth execution.
Plan and execute carnivals, trade shows and customer days.
Facilitate product training through each Key Account i.e: Focus groups, training centres etc.
Develop and implement key growth commercial strategies, tactics and action plans.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:
Relevant Diploma or Degree
Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience in a retail industry
Key/Corporate accounts experience
Excellent customer service skills
Management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a sales team
Forecasting and budgeting skills
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Knowledge of the sales process
Knowledge of cost price, selling price, and margins and the ability to assess problems and develop and implement solutions.
Experience in the Aerosol Paint industry would be advantageous
