Job Description
Our client is seeking a Junior Scrap Metal Buyer to join the Port Elizabeth team,
- Source ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal from existing and new suppliers.
- Conduct site visits to suppliers, scrapyards, industrial businesses, and construction sites.
- Negotiate pricing within approved company parameters.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and purchase agreements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Identify and develop new procurement opportunities.
- Assess and identify different grades of scrap metal.
- Evaluate quality, contamination levels, and estimated weight of materials.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- 1–2 years’ experience in buying, procurement, sales, logistics, recycling, manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Experience in the scrap metal, recycling, steel, or waste management industry will be advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Valid drivers license
Requirements
