Full Job Description
Responsible to apply knowledge of all construction related aspects (materials, methods, tools, and equipment involved in New Builds & Renovation related construction projects.
Identify & Manage resources to complete bids.
Preparing weekly bid calendar and ensuring timely completion of cost estimates.
Measure & Estimate drawings/plans and create turn-key cost estimates
Formulate Bill of Quantities- Tender/Quote requirements must be understood and accurately converted into Bill of Quantities.
Price all required materials, labour & plant
Resourcing, developing and maintaining information to gain better pricing on subcontractors, materials and services.
Obtain quotations from sub-contractors.
Place orders for all project requirements
Costing of bids on costing software – Billcost.
Create project timelines on MS Project following cost estimates
Minimum Requirements
National Diploma in Quantity Surveying & Construction Management (or other equal certification)
Minimum of 3 years proven QS experience in New Builds, schools construction and civil works environment.
Computer literate (Bill cost, Microsoft Office, Outlook, MS Projects)
The ability to understand Architectural and Engineering drawings and anticipate renovation related works that is often not clear on drawings.
Good communication and people interaction skills with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet required deadlines.
Must have a valid driver’s license
