Junior Local Pool Accountant
Purpose of the role:
To support the Head of Business Partnering by managing local and industrial fruit pool processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting audits. The role involves processing, reconciling, and tracking pool payments while collaborating with internal teams to ensure efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process industrial fruit pools in Palbroker and integrate with D365
Maintain and update the pool tracker report daily
Follow up with Credit Control team on status of local and industrial fruit pool files
Follow up with Commercial team on local and industrial fruit pool sign offs before payments
Follow up with Credit Control team on status of debtors on local and industrial fruit pools before payments
Collaborate with the Commercial team on pool sign-offs for timely grower payments
Prepare General and monthly journals for local and industrial fruit
Preparing Local and industrial fruit pool reconciliations for review
Assist with annual financial statement, BBBEE, APAC, and Tax audits
Perform other ad hoc duties as required
Requirements
Education:
Post-matric qualification/certification/diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field (advantageous)
Valid driver’s license and own transport
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar role within a large company
Experience with full finance functions (trial balance, debtors, creditors, banking, management accounts, and cashflow management)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience in the agricultural industry (advantageous)
