Full Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Estimator to assist in the preparation of accurate and timely cost estimates for commercial and residential glass and aluminum projects. The ideal candidate will support the estimating team by analyzing project drawings, specifications, and requirements to produce competitive and profitable bids.
Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications for bidding purposes.
Prepare take-offs and material quantities using estimation software or manual methods.
Assist in calculating labor, materials, and other project costs for glass and aluminum systems (e.g., curtain walls, storefronts, windows, doors).
Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain current pricing for materials and subcontractor services.
Input data into estimating software and assist with maintaining cost databases.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and sales staff to understand scope and ensure estimates align with project requirements.
Help prepare bid proposals, including all relevant documents and breakdowns.
Support in analyzing bids after submission for performance review.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
Maintain organized records of all estimates and bid documents.
