Role Purpose:
Support the processing, validation, and delivery of high-quality datasets. Assist in maintaining data accuracy, tracking datasets, and contributing to basic automation efforts to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
Role Scope & Accountability:
– Assist with processing and validating datasets under guidance
– Follow established data quality standards and workflows
– Support documentation, tracking, and continuous improvement of data processes
– Contribute to team objectives through reliable execution of assigned tasks
Key Responsibilities:
Data Processing & Quality
– Process datasets using Excel and Python from multiple sources
– Perform basic data validation and quality checks
– Flag data issues and escalate where necessary
– Support both manual and semi-automated workflows
Tracking & Documentation
– Update tracking systems with dataset status (received, processed, uploaded)
– Maintain accurate records of files and processing activities
– Document workflows, scripts, and recurring processes
– Log data issues and resolutions
Query Resolution
– Assist in resolving data-related queries from internal teams
– Investigate basic data issues and support root-cause analysis
– Provide clear updates on query status and resolutions
Automation Support
– Support development of Python scripts for simple automation tasks
– Assist in improving data ingestion and validation processes
– Help identify repetitive manual tasks suitable for automation
– Contribute to testing and improving existing automation tools
Process Improvement
– Follow standardized ETL processes and data formats
– Suggest improvements to reduce manual work and errors
– Support efforts to improve turnaround times and efficiency
Skills & Competencies:
Essential
– Basic to intermediate Python (pandas or similar)
– Strong Excel skills (formulas, basic data manipulation)
– Attention to detail and accuracy
– Problem-solving mindset
– Ability to follow processes and documentation
– Clear communication skills
Desirable
– Basic SQL knowledge
– Basic PHP knowledge
– Exposure to data workflows or ETL concepts
Technical Skills:
– Python (basic scripting, data handling)
– Microsoft Excel
– Basic data validation techniques
– Familiarity with file handling (CSV, Excel, etc.)
– Version control basics (Git – optional)
