Remuneration: R15 000 – R20 000 per month

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Junior Design Engineer (Mechanical) to support the design, drafting, coordination, and installation of water and wastewater treatment plant projects. The successful candidate will prepare 2D and 3D plant layout drawings, isometric drawings, and related engineering documentation while working closely with multidisciplinary project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare 2D and 3D plant layout drawings using CAD software.
- Develop isometric drawings, general arrangement drawings, and detailed design drawings for fabrication and installation.
- Read and interpret P&IDs to develop accurate plant layouts and piping routes.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure integrated designs.
- Supervise installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Maintain accurate drawing registers, revision records, and design documentation.
- Support project handover by preparing final as-built drawings and related documentation.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience using CAD software for 2D and 3D plant layout design.
- Ability to produce and interpret isometric drawings and detailed plant layout drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs accurately.
- Good understanding of plant installation practices, engineering drawings, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Experience in water and wastewater treatment plant projects will be an advantage.
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
