We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Buyer to join our growing team in Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with hands-on buying experience who is looking to develop their career in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
As a Junior Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting procurement operations from sourcing products and liaising with suppliers to monitoring stock levels and ensuring timely delivery of goods. You will work closely with the Buying Manager, with the opportunity to grow your skills and responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities:
Source products and negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers
Assist with purchasing under the guidance of the Buying Manager
Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability
Analyze market trends and supplier performance to inform buying decisions
Maintain accurate records of orders, pricing, and deliveries
Collaborate with internal teams to support demand planning and budget control
Use Excel to analyze procurement data, identify discrepancies, and report key insights
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years expeirnece in buying, procurement, or inventory management role
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting
Ability to identify and address data inconsistencies or supply issues
Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
High attention to detail with the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
Experience in supply-chain
Knowledge of import/export regulations and logistics is advantageous
Qualifications:
Diploma or relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field is advantageous but not essential
More important is practical buying experience and a desire to grow within the business
