The responsibility of a Business Development Manager is to promote the products and services of the company to new and existing clients for ongoing revenue. They will visit and grow the existing client database, create new leads, and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas. They aim to increase sales through cross-selling, up-selling, and add-on sales, while providing advice, solutions, and proposals to enhance customer satisfaction and ensure client productivity and business continuity.

Job Duties

:

Sales Planning

Build a prospect list and identify niche markets to target

Reach out to prospects via marketing strategies

Create weekly pipeline documents including client meetings and travel details in Outlook Calendar or CRM

Connect with 100-150 clients weekly through referrals, prospecting, and networking

Understand company offerings, client challenges, and industry characteristics to contribute to client conversions

Develop action plans, set schedules, and seek support from managers when needed

Achieve key performance indicators (KPIs)

Build prospect lists from existing sources and referrals

Conduct customer needs analysis for sales opportunities

Execute 10-15 sales meetings weekly to identify objectives, challenges, and solutions, and schedule demos

Consult with technical teams for site inspections

Respond promptly to inquiries and requests

Obtain signed documentation

Identify cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts

Prepare business case documents for clients

Record meeting notes and action points

Follow up on quotes and facilitate orders

Act as an advisor by researching and analyzing customer needs

Leverage relationships to create new connections and referrals

Handle customer queries related to installed systems

Advise customers on procedures for system queries and support tickets

Administrative

Duties

:

Manage sales-related administrative processes

Document research and client interactions in CRM and business cases

Update and maintain accurate records in CRM

Forecast and submit sales pipelines

Participate in weekly and daily review meetings with Sales Manager

Attend bi-monthly account planning and annual target meetings

Research and Learning :

Engage in industry and competitor research

Monitor customer industry developments

Maintain current product knowledge through self-study and training

Prepare sales presentations and participate in marketing events

Individual Development :

Complete Individual Development Plan

Attend coaching, mentoring, and training sessions

Requirements :

At least 2 years sales experience in a similar role

Highly organized, customer-focused, and proficient with CRM and MS Office

Ability to work under pressure and meet targets

Self-motivated, positive, and hardworking

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

3+ years’ experience preferred

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in fast-paced and stressful environments

Effective communicator and professional demeanor

Attention to detail, time management, and ability to prioritize

Assertive, self-motivated, and confident

Availability for overtime and standby as needed

Valid driver’s license and own transport
