About the job Junior Bookkeeper
Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to support our clients finance team in managing day-to-day bookkeeping and financial tasks. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and expense reports
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Assist with payroll processing
Prepare and issue invoices to clients and follow up on payments
Maintain the general ledger and assist in month-end financial closing
Assist in preparing financial reports and statements
Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations
Support the finance team with administrative and ad hoc tasks
Requirements:
Education:
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience:
1-2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (internship experience included)
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (Quick Books, Xero, Sage, or similar)
Microsoft Office:
Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.)
Knowledge of Accounting Principles:
Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Attention to Detail:
Ability to spot numerical errors and maintain accuracy in financial records
Communication Skills:
Ability to interact professionally with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
Time Management:
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Skills (Advantageous):
Experience in a fast-paced or startup environment
Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
