Full Job Description
Slim Hospitality is a dynamic and fast-growing hospitality group based in South Africa, managing a portfolio of well-loved food and beverage brands across the region. From cafés and dessert bars to restaurants and lifestyle concepts, we pride ourselves on delivering quality, consistency, and unforgettable experiences.
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team and help manage the financial operations of all our hospitality brands. You’ll work directly under senior management and alongside a junior bookkeeper to ensure that the numbers behind our operations are precise, up to date, and useful for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full accounting functions for multiple brands within the group.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations, and journals.
Oversee monthly and annual closing processes.
Monitor cash flow, track expenses, and report variances.
Work with the junior bookkeeper to ensure daily transactions and invoices are properly captured.
Compile and analyze financial reports for management.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and internal financial strategies.
Handle VAT submissions, PAYE, and other SARS compliance requirements.
Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and banking partners.
Help improve financial controls and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
Strong understanding of hospitality or retail finance is highly advantageous.
Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
Solid understanding of payroll, tax, and statutory reporting.
Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling, etc.).
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple brands/accounts.
