Job Title: Jolly Literacy Hub Manager
Hours: This is a part-time role of 3 days per week.

Primary Role
Working closely with our key partner – Western Cape Education Department – the successful applicant will be responsible for the overall management for the Jolly Literacy Hub in the Western Cape. The Hub will act as a central space to co-ordinate a number of activities that look to support teachers, head teachers, government officials, parents and pupils with developing their English literacy skills through Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar.
The role will include having oversight of the Jolly Monitor project management system, which allows the project team to better understand the impact of the Jolly Phonics project in Western Cape. It will also entail general admin, and day-to-day running of the Hub in order to create a positive working environment for staff, trainers and trainees.
Specific Responsibilities
Oversee visitors to the office and ensure a friendly, personal experience
Collaborate with Western Cape Education Department (WCED) management and subject advisors to ensure that Jolly Phonics trained teachers are given ongoing mentoring and monitoring, using the Jolly Monitor system to the fullest of its potential
Ensure peak operations for the organisation and implement preventive measures for potential issues
Design and implement innovative community-level projects and initiatives to help enable parents and their children to better access their right to literacy
Provision of high-quality, regular, reporting to WCED and ULS teams.
Procure office supplies as and when required in line financial procurement policy
Respond to requests and questions about office operations
Create procedures and processes for the smooth running of the centre in line with health and safety guidelines
Ensure office efficiency by maintaining common areas, organising procedures, handling correspondence and overseeing supplies and equipment
Oversee day-to-day office activities as main point of contact in reception area
Managing at least one project Intern in order to support the wider implementation of the Jolly Phonics project in the Western Cape
Provide direct administrative support as needed, including scheduling appointments, meetings, and training events and workshops.
Oversee and maintain office equipment for uninterrupted function, identify needs and acquire supplies, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate deliveries when requested
Work with the Jolly Training Manager to support her/him with management of training workshops
Support Training Manager with materials and book orders for private schools and ensure stock management system is adhered to
Support Training Manager with storage and distribution of participant packs
Co-operate generally with all representatives and staff of the Company and accept instructions from Universal Learning Solutions in the UK, and Team Leaders, Country Staff in South Africa.
Comply with all relevant laws, regulatory requirements and codes of conduct.

Qualifications and Experience
We will require candidates to be qualified in the majority of points below:
Required skills and qualifications
Two or more years of experience in teacher trai9ning, mentoring and monitoring.
Good understanding of Jolly Phonics and how this is aligned to the CAPS curriculum.
Strong time-management and people skills, high degree of flexibility, and excellent multitasking ability
Proficiency with office applications, computer literate and aptitude for learning new software and systems
Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information
Preferred skills and qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Experience in developing internal systems
Advanced computer skills and experience
Understanding of the Jolly Phonics
