As our Java Team Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in the design, development, and delivery of a complex enterprise platform. You’ll combine technical excellence with people leadership, guiding a talented development team while shaping architecture, driving innovation, and delivering solutions that make a real impact on our business and customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead and Inspire
- Lead, mentor, and empower a team of talented Java developers.
- Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and support high-performing delivery teams.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and code review expertise.
Build Exceptional Solutions
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications.
- Deliver end-to-end customer solutions, including user interfaces, SQL data models, and business logic.
- Architect scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions that meet business needs.
- Provide hands-on development and technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle.
Drive Architecture and Integration
- Design and implement integrations with external systems, APIs, web services, and third-party platforms.
- Lead solution architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
- Ensure seamless interoperability across multiple business systems.
Champion Quality and Performance
- Oversee testing strategies, code quality, CI/CD processes, and delivery standards.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimisation strategies.
- Ensure robust security practices and compliance with regulatory requirements, including POPIA.
Partner Across the Business
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions.
- Contribute to platform enhancements and strategic technology roadmaps.
