Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Irrigation Technician to join our dynamic landscape maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing irrigation systems across various properties. Your expertise will ensure that landscapes are efficiently watered, healthy, and thriving, contributing to the overall beauty and sustainability of our clients’ outdoor spaces. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on new irrigation system installation projects and perform routine irrigation maintenance with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Install new irrigation systems, including sprinkler heads, controllers, valves, and piping, ensuring proper setup and functionality
- Conduct regular irrigation system maintenance to optimize performance and prevent breakdowns
- Troubleshoot system issues using electrical diagnostics and system troubleshooting techniques to identify faults quickly
- Repair or replace irrigation equipment such as pumps, valves, controllers, and sprinkler heads as needed
- Perform excavation work for installation or repair projects using hand tools or excavators while adhering to safety standards
- Manage automated irrigation control systems to adjust watering schedules based on weather conditions and soil science data
- Collaborate with landscaping teams to integrate irrigation systems seamlessly into landscape design and maintenance plans
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining system operations and addressing client concerns professionally
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in irrigation system installation and repair projects
- Familiarity with electrical diagnostics related to irrigation control systems
- Hands-on experience with excavation equipment such as excavators and power tools for installation tasks
- Knowledge of soil science, horticulture, landscaping, lawn care, and landscape maintenance principles
- Ability to read technical diagrams and system schematics for troubleshooting purposes
- Construction experience or background in irrigation management is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely
