INVITATION FOR TRUSTEE NOMINATIONS – THE FINANCIAL SERVICES CONSUMER EDUCATION FOUNDATION Jobs in Pretoria at Financial Sector Conduct Authority
The Financial Services Consumer Education Foundation (Foundation) invites nominations for the services of three Trustees to serve on its Board on a non-executive basis. The Foundation is an independent Trust, established by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) with the sole purpose of promoting and funding financial consumer education initiatives that are developed, implemented, and managed by the Consumer Education Department (CED) of the FSCA. The aim of these initiatives is to increase the level of financial literacy of both existing and potential consumers of financial products and services.
Trustees should ideally have a minimum of 5 years’ experience and skills/knowledge in:
Community engagement
Consumer Financial Education
Financial services (Chartered Accountant, Consumer Education Specialist, Audit and Risk)
Behavioural economist/Social Development
Audit and project management
Stakeholder engagement/donor relations
The Foundation is committed towards increasing the representation of marginalised groups in line with its Deed of Trust. Preference will be granted to the representation of broader demographics of the South African population.
Supporting the FSCA in meeting its mandate of providing and promoting financial education in South
Africa.
Attending Foundation Sub-Committee and Board meetings at least twice a year.
Attending Foundation funded projects.
Providing expert input into project proposals for the funding of consumer financial education initiatives.
Collectively making decisions on project selection and implementation.
Connecting the Foundation to networks within the Financial Sector for potential funding/donation opportunities.
Remuneration:
Tustees are remunerated on an hourly basis for meeting preparation, meeting attendance and travel.
Trustees are appointed for a maximum term of office of three (3) years and may be reappointed but may not serve more than three (3) consecutive terms of office.
Nominations must be supported by a CV of and a written acceptance of the nominated person by no later than 25 March 2025
