Role Overview

This is not a support role. From day one, the successful candidate will carry a deal budget and be directly responsible for contributing to the successful closing of transactions. Candidates must arrive with the skills, experience and confidence to operate at this level of deal-making immediately.

We are seeking a highly motivated Investment Analyst with strong analytical capabilities and a keen interest in capital markets. This is a hands-on, deal-making position for a CA or CFA offering real transaction exposure, meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to contribute to impactful businesses across Europe and Africa.

The ideal candidate is tenacious and outgoing, with a dynamic personality and a natural ability to build relationships. They are a strong negotiator who can engage confidently with institutional investors and corporate clients to help close transactions.

Demonstrated leadership and previous professional experience in a transaction-oriented environment are essential. We are looking for leaders with high emotional intelligence who can take ownership, support junior team members and help develop those around them.

  • Prior professional experience in finance, advisory or a deal-oriented environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial and commercial analysis of companies and projects across multiple sectors
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses
  • Prepare investment memoranda, teasers and investor presentations
  • Structure and execute transactions end-to-end, including due diligence and negotiation
  • Negotiate directly with senior institutional investors to help drive mandates to close
  • Perform market and sector research, including investor landscape mapping
  • Engage directly with institutional investors and C-suite corporate clients to support transaction execution

Qualifications & SkillsEssential

  • Bachelor of Business Science, Commerce Honours, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated prior working experience in finance or advisory
  • Proven leadership experience, either professional or extracurricular
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • High energy, resilience and comfort in a fast-paced, deal-oriented environment
  • Confidence in negotiation, with evidence of commercial drive and execution ability

Advantageous

  • Experience in investment banking, private markets or corporate finance
  • Exposure to African or European capital markets
  • CA(SA), CFA, or postgraduate Master’s degree in finance
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, including LBO, DCF and comparable company analysis
  • Existing institutional investor relationships
  • Passion for ESG-aligned investing and alternative assets
