The Inventory Manager is responsible for managing inventory operations, ensuring the accuracy of stock levels, and overseeing all warehouse inventory processes. The role requires maintaining optimal stock levels, implementing effective inventory control processes, and collaborating with other departments such as procurement and sales to ensure seamless operations.
This position is based in Pomona, Kempton Park.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management:
Oversee all aspects of inventory management, including stock control, cycle counting, and reconciliation of stock discrepancies.
Ensure accurate tracking of all inventory levels and adjustments using inventory management software.
Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse space and storage solutions.
Data Management & Reporting:
Ensure accurate data entry and real-time updating of inventory records in SAP systems.
Generate regular reports on inventory status, stock levels, and discrepancies for management review.
Analyse inventory trends and make data-driven recommendations for improving processes.
Process Improvement:
Develop and improve inventory control processes to ensure accurate and efficient warehouse operations.
Implement best practices to improve inventory turnover and reduce waste and obsolescence.
Lead initiatives to automate and streamline inventory-related processes where possible.
Leadership & Team Management:
Supervise and train warehouse staff in inventory management procedures and best practices.
Manage team performance, set goals, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., shipping, receiving, and sales) to ensure smooth operations across functions.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all inventory operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Ensure accurate labelling and storage of hazardous materials if applicable.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
5 – 7 years of experience in inventory management or warehouse operations.
Pharmaceutical product experience is a must
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and SAP
Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
