Introduction
Conways Aluminium is a leading supplier of Aluminium Extrusions and Hardware in Southern African. They supply various market segments in the architectural fenestration and related industries. They have a strategically placed geographical network of branches nationwide that predominantly sell fenestration systems to aluminium and glass fabricators that fabricate and install windows, doors, shop fronts, curtain walls, showers, etc. in new or renovation construction projects.
They furthermore stock and sell standard aluminium profiles like angles, flats, tubes, bars, and channels to the public.
Position Overview: This position plays a crucial role in supporting sales and related administrative functions and associated processes within the stockist to ensure great customer satisfaction and efficient and effective customer service that consistently reflects a positive and professional image of the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Grow and service the customer base, ensuring regular additions to meet sales and gross profit margin targets.
- Identify new customers, qualify their buying potential, and take necessary actions to secure their business.
- Consistently reach and exceed sales targets set collectively by you and the company, demonstrating a strong commitment to achieving sales and overall business objectives.
- Develop in-depth product and technical knowledge to upsell and improve the internal and external customer experience.
- Educate and assist customers with technical inquiries to win tenders and upsell additional products.
- Provide customers with written quotations as and when required and expedite them into orders.
- Ensure the accuracy of product and price information on orders and process customer orders correctly to prevent errors, related credit notes, rework, wastes and poor customer experience.
- Take responsibility and manage customer payments and Cash/EFT with Order (CWO) accounts to prevent unpaid sales.
- Ensure credit notes for customers are processed immediately as per company policy.
- Manage the back-order status of customers, communicate and expedite with Buyers to ensure fast completion of orders and to avoid redundant or slow-moving stock.
- Regularly communicate with customers regarding their requirements, order status, credit facility, and credit status.
- Maintain customer order, quotation, and other relevant filing for easy reference and eliminate risks of losses.
- Follow company and departmental policies and procedures of any function or department where assisting.
- Participate in the preparation and physical accurate counting of stock and stock takes and work overtime and weekends as required to complete these tasks.
- Maintain housekeeping, safety standards, security, and risk mitigation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Report any fraudulent, theft, collusive, suspicious, unproductive, malicious or instigative activities or attempts by any party.
- Embrace and maintain the continuous improvement program (20 Keys) and initiate improvements where possible.
- Work flexitime, Saturdays, and overtime as required.
- Actively participate as part of the team, remaining flexible to perform any necessary functions to serve as a backup, enhance productivity, and improve customer service levels and as part of self-development.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Sales experience in the aluminium, hardware, or glass industry to penetrate and develop customers and markets.
- Starfront Design, Optimising & Costing program knowledge will be an advantage.
- Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent.
- A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
- Computer literate with good excel skills.
- Well versed in English, both written and verbally.
- Knowledge of Wispeco aluminium product range.
- Potential to develop further.
- Code 08 Drivers licence.
