  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Independent Contractor

About The Business & Core Niche

We are an award-winning, high-end hospitality design firm that delivers immersive, world-class experiences across boutique hotels, luxury resorts, premier nightclubs, high-design restaurants, upscale multifamily environments, and branded lifestyle concepts. With an active portfolio of high-profile projects spanning North America and international markets, our firm is scaling rapidly.

Unlike traditional residential studios or rigid corporate architectural firms, our business lives at the intersection of structural precision and deep narrative storytelling. We build spaces that elicit emotional responses, meaning our documentation must be as imaginative as it is technically flawless.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated Senior Interior Architectural Designer with 5 to 10+ years of deep experience in complex hospitality or commercial project pipelines. Because our team operates globally, we are bypassing local constraints to hire top-tier international talent in South Africa or Latin America who possess elite technical mastery and a sophisticated eye for design.

This is a comprehensive, production-heavy role designed for a “dual-threat” technical designer. You are not simply a draftsperson taking redlines; you are an independent system owner. You will run the backend modeling engine of our premier projects, translate high-level creative concepts into fully realized, coordinated construction document (CD) packages, and act as a central technical hub between internal designers, principal leadership, and external engineering consultants.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Advanced Construction Documentation & Revit Architecture
  • Set Ownership: Produce, organize, and manage comprehensive interior architectural drawing sets across all project phases, from Schematic Design (SD) through to 100% Construction Documents (CDs).
  • BIM Modeling: Lead the building of high-fidelity, Revit-based drawing sets. This includes modeling and detailed drafting of complex floor plans, intricate reflective ceiling plans (RCPs), custom millwork sections, interior elevations, finish schedules, and precise architectural details.
  • Tech-Driven Efficiency: Actively utilize digital, cloud-based coordination tools and AI-assisted workflows to optimize drawing efficiency, speed up rendering/modeling outputs, and continuously streamline team documentation processes.
  • Multidisciplinary Technical Coordination
  • Consultant Integration: Review, cross-reference, and coordinate complex structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), lighting, and specialty consultant drawings with our interior design documentation to eliminate field conflicts.
  • Design Alignment: Bridge the gap between artistic intent and structural reality. Review shop drawings, manufacturer submittals, and material samples for pinpoint accuracy, ensuring on-site execution perfectly mirrors principal design vision.
  • Virtual Collaboration: Actively participate in and lead technical sections of virtual coordination meetings with international project teams, consultants, and project managers.
  • Quality Control & Construction Administration
  • Technical Audits: Support rigorous internal quality control checks on documentation sets before submission, proactively resolving spatial errors, omissions, or code/detailing conflicts.
  • Issue Resolution: Provide technical solutions for complex interior intersections, material transitions, and construction detailing.
  • CA Workflow Support: Assist the project management team during the Construction Administration phase by helping process RFIs (Requests for Information) and reviewing change orders where necessary.
  • Manage projects from start to finish.
  • Coordinate and oversee an external production team and vendors.
  • Ensure drawings, materials, and deliverables are completed on time.
  • Support project design and production throughout all phases.
  • End-to-end project management.
  • Knowledge of the full project lifecycle.
  • Team and vendor management.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or equivalent proven technical design experience.
  • Revit Expertise: Advanced, expert-level proficiency in Revit is non-negotiable. You must be comfortable working natively in centralized, workshared central models alongside multiple remote team members. Strong functional knowledge of AutoCAD is also required.
  • CD Package Mastery: A proven portfolio demonstrating your direct experience producing, interior detailing, and coordinating complete, fully realized construction document sets used for bidding and construction.
  • Time Zone Sync: Ability to maintain reliable, consistent, and professional working hour overlap with US Central Time (CST), regardless of local time zones.
  • Communication & Independence: Exceptional, professional written and verbal English communication skills. You must be highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable driving deadlines independently from a remote environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Creative problem-solving.

  • Prior direct experience working remotely as an independent contractor for US-based design firms, clients, or consultants.
