ROLE OVERVIEW
This role is responsible for the configuration, optimisation, and ongoing management of the WhatsApp platform and its conversational interfaces. The incumbent will design and maintain chatbot flows, manage platform integrations, and support business requirements, ensuring an effective and user-friendly customer experience across the platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Platform Configuration & Management
- Own and maintain conversation flows, logic, and configurations within Flow XO.
- Manage and update chatbot journeys to ensure accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
- Configure and maintain automation workflows across the platform.
- Manage the Meta Business Suite (WhatsApp) configuration and administration.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of conversation flows, configurations, and integrations.
System Integration & Data Management
- Manage integrations between Flow XO and backend systems.
- Ensure accurate data flow and system connectivity across integrated platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration or data-related issues impacting functionality.
- Support the maintenance and optimisation of automation and data pipelines.
Solution Design & Implementation
- Contribute to requirements gathering and requirements validation exercises.
- Translate business needs into functional chatbot flows and technical configurations.
- Design and implement enhancements to improve functionality and user journeys.
- Support testing, deployment, and ongoing refinement of platform solutions.
Monitoring, Analytics & Optimisation
- Monitor chatbot performance using platform analytics tools and dashboards.
- Analyse usage trends and user behaviour to identify improvement opportunities.
- Implement enhancements to improve engagement, accuracy, and user experience.
Vendor, Source System & Business Collaboration
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and provide solutions.
- Act as the primary liaison with source system owners and third-party vendors to define, coordinate, and implement integration requirements.
- Identify and communicate changes required in upstream systems to support chatbot functionality.
- Coordinate testing and deployment activities across dependent systems and vendors.
- Manage technical relationships with external platform providers where required.
- Provide support for platform-related queries and issue resolution.
Platform Governance & Change Management
- Assess the impact of business changes on chatbot flows, integrations, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure configuration changes follow change management and release management processes.
- Maintain technical documentation for integrations, APIs, database structures, and solution architecture.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field OR Relevant certifications combined with demonstrated industry experience.
- Relevant cloud platform certifications (e.g. AWS) are advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in platform configuration, automation, or integration roles, with exposure to cloud environments.
- Experience with any modern programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript experience is advantageous)
- Experience working with chatbot platforms (e.g., Flow XO or similar).
- Proficiency with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL experience is advantageous).
- Experience working with WhatsApp Business API and Meta suite is advantageous.

- Ability to design and configure chatbot flows and automation logic.
- Understanding of system integrations and data flow between platforms.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system issues effectively.
- Understanding of database and query concepts.
- Analytical ability to interpret system performance and user data.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
