A leading hotel group with locations in Mbombela, Emalahleni, Ermelo, Secunda, Standerton, Sandton and Cape Town are looking to employ a meticulous and experienced Information Technology Technician to join our team. South African Citizens only

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The IT Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime across client environments. The role includes both proactive and reactive technical support, as well as user training and systems administration. We are looking for a passionate and detail orientated IT Technician to join our team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals.
  • Assist with Setup and Installation of New Desktop, Laptops, Servers network equipment.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of Desktops, Laptops, Networks (WIFI & LAN), Firewalls, Switches, Printers, Backups, Antivirus, Servers, Internet Connectivity and Email
  • Assisting with designing and implementation of new systems and services.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, Diagrams, and documentation.
  • Maintain asset registers and documentation of all support activities.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

·       Relevant IT Qualification (Diploma or Degree in IT/Computer Science preferred – A+, N+, CompTIA, MCSA, MCSE

·       Minimum 3 years’ on-site IT support experience in a business environment

·       Strong skills in troubleshooting, system maintenance, and end-user support

·       Microsoft and Windows experience is a requirement, Mac and Linux systems will be advantageous.

·       Advance network configuration & setup experience (VPN, VLAN, Network Routing, firewalls)

·       Hotel Property Management Solutions (PMS) and POS Systems will be advantageous.

·       Mikrotik, VOIP Setup, CCTV and other technical skills will be advantageous.

·       Excellent communication and customer service skills

·       Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support tickets under pressure

·       Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

·       Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and documentation discipline

·       Occasional after-hours work & standby

·       Code 8/10 Driver’s licence
