Join our growing IT services team in Centurion as a Service Delivery and Field Engineer, providing 2nd Line Technical Support to our African countries.
We need someone with a passion for IT stability, strong problem-solving skills, and a client-focused approach.
What you’ll bring:
2+ years work experience in a similar field
Relevant IT qualification
Comp TIA A+ and N+
Experience with the Google Suite
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Proactive and detail-oriented
What you will be doing:
Service Monitoring and Basic Maintenance: Monitor the health and performance of key IT services and infrastructure. Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks, system checks, and preventative actions under guidance. Gain experience in using monitoring tools and dashboards to understand real-time system status.
Incident Response and Assistance: Participate in responding to technical incidents in a timely manner, following established processes for logging, prioritizing, and escalating issues. Learn to troubleshoot common problems and document incident details and resolutions accurately with support. Communicate updates on incident progress to internal teams and, where appropriate, clients, with guidance.
Understanding Service Levels (SLAs): Develop an understanding of the agreed-upon service levels for supported services. Learn to monitor service performance against these targets and identify potential issues. Contribute to gathering data for SLA performance reports.
Client Interaction and Support: Serve as a technical point of contact for client inquiries and issues, learning to communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Begin to build positive working relationships with clients through effective support.
Teamwork and Coordination: Collaborate with experienced IT teams (e.g., infrastructure, applications, security) to help resolve issues and implement solutions. Learn to coordinate with third-party vendors under supervision for service delivery tasks.
Documentation and Knowledge Building: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of accurate technical documentation, such as procedures and troubleshooting tips, under guidance. Share learnings and best practices with the team as you develop your knowledge.
Contributing to Service Improvement: Participate in discussions about potential service improvements and efficiency gains. Contribute ideas and learn from service review meetings. Show initiative in staying updated with relevant technologies and best practices with support from the team.
Assisting with Reporting: Help gather data for reports on service performance, incident trends, and problem status for the Team Leads. Contribute to the preparation of client-facing reports with guidance.
