Job Description:
Multiple leading, listed insurance companies in Johannesburg are urgently seeking contract Financial Accountants with proven IFRS 17 expertise. These are not general accounting roles – we need specialists who have worked hands-on with IFRS 17 and can confidently contribute as subject matter experts within large, complex finance environments.
You’ll work closely with actuarial, finance, and audit teams to ensure the delivery of accurate and compliant IFRS 17 reporting. These roles offer exposure to high-impact projects within well-established financial institutions.
Key Requirements:
CA(SA) with 2–3+ years post-articles experience.
Extensive practical IFRS 17 experience (beyond training/theory).
Background in short- or long-term insurance finance.
Experience in listed, corporate, or financial services environments.
Big 4 articles preferred.
Must be immediately available.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead or support IFRS 17 reporting, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Collaborate with actuarial teams on IFRS 17 inputs and SAM submissions.
Assist in group reporting, audit, and financial pack preparation.
Contribute to internal control reviews and regulatory compliance.
