Full Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
An HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting HVAC systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The engineer ensures that HVAC systems operate efficiently, meet industry standards, and provide a comfortable and safe environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Planning
Develop HVAC system designs based on building specifications, project requirements, and environmental conditions.
Perform load calculations to determine heating and cooling requirements.
Select appropriate HVAC equipment, such as chillers, boilers, air handling units, and ductwork.
Prepare technical drawings and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HVAC standards and codes.
Installation & Project Management
Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems.
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure system compatibility with the building structure.
Conduct site inspections and resolve installation issues.
Prepare cost estimates and project budgets.
Monitor project timelines and ensure timely completion.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Develop preventive maintenance plans for HVAC systems.
Diagnose and resolve HVAC system malfunctions.
Conduct performance tests and energy audits to optimize efficiency.
Recommend upgrades and modifications for improved system performance.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain records of HVAC system designs, installations, and maintenance activities.
Prepare technical reports and documentation for stakeholders.
Provide training to maintenance staff and end-users on HVAC system operations.
Compliance & Sustainability
Ensure adherence to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency guidelines.
Implement eco-friendly HVAC solutions to reduce carbon footprints.
Stay updated with advancements in HVAC technology and industry best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Professional certification (e.g., HVAC certification, LEED accreditation) is a plus.
Proficiency in HVAC design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and energy modeling tools.
Strong understanding of HVAC codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Experience in project management and site supervision.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
